The story of how this journey began......
Going back to the beginning of this story. It was mentioned to me yesterday that many of you don't really know what happened the day of Andres' accident and are not aware he was on a bicycle and not a motorcycle. So, here is the story (Mike & Matt please correct me as necessary): On Thursday July 10th, Andres, Mike Real & Matt Shy went mountain/off-road cycling in the canyons of Bonita/Chula Vista as part of a favorite pass-time. There are several ramps that people have built in this canyon behind the Fire Station. Andres took one of the ramps (as he has done several times before) that goes up about 6 feet above ground. As he took the ramp things didn't go as smoothly as in the past and he ended up falling on the right side of the ramp and landing on his head. Due to the low height, there was no time to tuck and roll. Mike & Matt did a great job in working as team. Mike rode to the Fire Station to get help and Matt stayed with Andres.
